A Little Bits Arts and Craftsy

I’m going to squeeze one last post out of my afternoon in Letchworth.

A number of the buildings are clearly inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement of the late 19th century; a sort of folksy country style architecture for the small town centre.

I do like having tea out of proper cups and my own tea pot.  And with a table decoration like that, it was no surprise to see how the toilet facilities were decorated.

The yellow gloves add balance to the whole arrangement

Although nothing on the same scale, when I see a toilet roll cover, it always reminds me of an ancient review in the Good Food Guide for the Sharrow Bay Hotel in the Lake District, which described it as overflowing with geegaws and bibelots.  I had to look up both words in the dictionary, but they soon became part of my vocabulary, and are invaluable when faced with such bits and pieces.
