A Double Rainbow

The west of Scotland is the place to catch sight of a rainbow, and there has been a lot of them recently. It’s probably got something to do with how much it rains, amid the occasional bursts of sunshine.

I was rather pleased to spot this double rainbow, and even more pleased to have my camera with me at the time.

This is the House For an Art Lover in Bellahouston Park in Glasgow. Constructed in the 1980s, it is based on a design by Charles Rennie Mackintosh which he submitted to a competition in 1901 or thereabouts. He didn’t win the competition, but the building was finally constructed during the early days of the revival of interest in Mackintosh’s work.

It’s used mainly as a meeting and wedding venue, and is, I suspect, best enjoyed from outside, but we had a very nice lunch there warmed by the sun shining through the windows, and just about avoiding the showers.
